Sales and Marketing Management, Setting Sights with Statistics
Southwestern Bell Telephone's Western Oklahoma sales region was the last in sales compared to other regions. Robert Clyne, district manager of business sales attended a QualPro course that offered a solution to test ideas for improvement. To Clyne's surprise, the ideas taught to him in sales and marketing courses were not the ideas that sold product to the customer. After implementing QualPro's methodology, Clyne's group increased sales by $1.5 million and jumped to second place in total sales for all of Southwestern Bell. (more)

The first process profiled is improvement of Boise's J3 machine for CD stiffness and formation. The result was improved stiffness and a savings of approximately $2 million.
